A Bit About Me
Hello! I’m Sangeetha Mohana, a radio announcer, freelance makeup artist, and account executive in marketing - essentially a jack of all trades (or at least that’s what my mum says haha!).
There are some days where I find people asking me how do I juggle both my passion and my corporate work? I say I honestly do not know other than the fact that I do not ever want to get comfortable with where I am, which is why I’m always trying to discover where and how I can grow as a creative person.
The answers all lie within you. You can always constantly reinvent yourself, it’s just for most us fear holds us back from tapping into our potential.
My journey has been about exploration and growth, where I continually seek new experiences that push my boundaries. As someone who once embraced introversion, I’ve transformed into a more expressive individual, embracing challenges and using setbacks as invaluable lessons.
Through my diverse experiences, I’ve developed a knack for helping others uncover their hidden capabilities. I believe that everyone has untapped potential waiting to be discovered.
By encouraging people to step out of their comfort zones, I aim to inspire them to embrace their unique talents and abilities. Let’s embark on this journey of self-discovery together, unlocking the possibilities within you!
- I grew up attending SK Kampung Tunku, where I was a timid kid. Unlike the extrovert I am today, my mom always told me, "never try,n ever know" which inspired me to step out of my shell.
- I went to SMK (P) Sri Aman Girls School in PJ, excelling academically and in sports. I joined various clubs to build a sense of community, including a running community during high school.
- At 13, I joined the cheerleading team, where intense training under a great coach taught me the importance of mental strength.
- I was a part of the Interact Club of Sri Aman, engaging in community-based projects that honed my social skills and I learned the importance of networking before entering the workforce.
Skills and Interests
- As a child, I loved writing, reading, and watching movies. Writing has always been a great way for me to convey my emotions and feelings.
- In late 2021, I competed under Hitz FM Radio Announcer Search as a DJ announcer and won the first HitzAnnouncerSearch 2021 competition online, creating voice-over content and social media challenges weekly to find my audience community who connected with my content style.
- I’ve had the privilege of receiving mentoring from the legendary Ean & Arnold from the HITZ Morning Crew and liaising with producers in a flexible and transparent environment.
- Radio has made me more confident in my general social communication and also with my public speaking. I've learned to be quick on my feet and also assess audience behaviours to maximise the quality of their listeners' experience.
- The camera never lies so this confidence has reflected in my KOL content as I have seen the progress my platform has made from overcoming my fears of being vulnerable online.
- I am braver in taking risks as I take in my creative content that consists of beauty, comedy and lifestyle.
- Currently under FLY FM as a Weekend Announcer, taking my skills that I’ve learnt through my years under HITZ onto expanding my journey with radio.
Professional Experience

Radio Announcer
- Building a community is crucial, although the ability to climb within the industry can be slow due to the oversaturation of KOLs, finding your listeners by expressing yourself uniquely yet authentically is the biggest advantage you can have. Authenticity is key.
- Maintaining a high energy level throughout sessions with your own fresh content scripts is the continuous challenge for announcers, being a creative myself gave me leverage in this area.
- Being a radio announcer means producing your own content based on the topics that perform well among your listeners, which is why it's important to stay on top of trends and deliver unique material through the hosting scripts and also song selections during air time.
- Being a content creator is an essential part of maintaining relevance in the scene as it’s a medium of engagement outside of the radio platform which reaches new potential audiences to expand the fanbase, remaining consistent with this is a challenge I enjoy as it encourages me to think outside the box to have a unique take on current trends.

Influencer Marketing
- Being a KOL myself allowed me to ease into the Influencer marketing agency world as I've been familiar with the mechanics for over 5 years.
- I have a deeper understanding in terms of performance metrics in the industry and how to achieve the best results.
- I’ve been able to expand my network database of KOLs which have allowed brand deals and campaign referrals to occur throughout the community.
- I started my KOL, as my side income grew, learning how to engage the sponsors, setting my own fees, and my brief career opportunity at a renowned influencer marketing agency, being the insider definitely helped me in terms of understanding the influencer marketing landscape.

Affiliate Marketing
- As an account executive, dealing with sales and operations to set up brands and deals on the website with a fast paced corporate working environment.
- I service with the Australian clientele department, managing 380 brands based on sales revenues.
- My role involves defining goals, target audiences, top affiliates, and network partners, working with influencers on a commission basis, of which my accumulated skills from previous jobs such as networking, strategising and understanding audience behaviours have proven highly useful.
