A Bit About Me

Hii! I’m so excited to be here and to share my experience in hopes that it helps you. I’ve gone through a lot of life and I’m pumped for you to benefit from it! Here’s a bit about me:)

• I left Malaysia at 7 and returned at 17, having lived in Toronto, Canada until I was 16,  Perth, Australia until I was 17 before returning and settling in Malaysia five years ago.
• I have adapted to 3 different lifestyles educationally, environmentally and socially.

Educational Journey

• I hold a Communications Degree with a major in Journalism, and I was honoured to graduate as Valedictorian by being proactive in my education, student culture, and research achievements to ensure I was maximising my time for academics,extra curriculars, and building a career.
• I explored different fields like medicine, engineering, and IT before realising that writing was my true passion.
• I've experienced firsthand the differences between the education systems in Canada and Malaysia. From how varied the teaching methods were to the involvement of teachers and mentors in guiding students to acquire knowledge. 

Skills and Interests

• I speak Punjabi, Hindi, Malay, and English fluently, with a little bit of French. (Yes, Punjabi is definitely trickier than Hindi!)
• I love beaches, often visited Cherating and Perhentian as I grew up, happy to recommend the foodie must-trys! 
• I've overcome struggles with restrictive eating habits by focusing on my physical and mental health. I'd love to share my tips with others. 

Professional Experience

• Influencer Marketing at a PR agency 
  • I’ve worked as a copywriter and content writer, managing international clients such as Adidas, Johnnie Walker, and Nestle. 
  • I’m experienced in pitching, strategizing, planning briefs, and sourcing influencers to execute the client’s visions within allocated budgets.
  • The agency life is fast-paced, dynamic, and growth-oriented which can be a pro or con depending on what you’re looking for.
  • Challenges like workload and tight timelines are part of the deal, so if you're a great time manager and multitasker it's up your alley!
• Communications Assistant at a Sexual and Reproductive Health Agency
  • I currently work with an international agency to improve sexual and reproductive health for women and children in Malaysia.
  • Amplifying a message through  social media, newsletters, PR work, and corporate communications which allows me to align my creativity and passion for the cause.
